Dear Muslim Brother or Sister, my name is Jay and I am so happy that I made a big great decision in my life of accepting Islam while I was in school! A Pakistani Muslim Brother gave me dawah while I was on my way to the library. I was looking for some meaning and purpose in life in religion during those times when I was studying at the University of Waterloo. I majored in economics and I was very closely involved in masjid prayer routines as well as other Muslim activities from the Muslim Student Association. I was thinking of maybe going to the church before and through Allah’s guidance I am guided to Islam instead. Alhamdulilah! I really enjoy the beauty of the Islamic brotherhood and sisterhood as it is so supportive and helpful whenever someone needs someone to hangout or talk to. I received so many hugs the day I took shahada and I still remember how warm and hospitable everyone was when they hugged me and shook my hand. I love those brothers and I wish the best for everyone of them! I remember that the first book I read about Islam was the end of time and the prophecies about the end of time. Funny it sounds but Instead of the Quran, I read about many of the atrocities that will happen near the day of judgement as it was a starter in my journey in Islam. I remember very clear that I was at home one day and a book appeared in front of me that belonged to a Muslim brother of my. I just took that book and started flipping through the pages and right away the book captured my attention and took my focus. I was so involved and captivated in its reading that I memorized many of its prophecies as I see them all happening infront of my eyes today. I took shahada about six years ago. I do pray my five daily obligatory prayers and I do strive to follow more of the Sunnah of The Prophet. I like reading the Quran and I study Hadiths. One of my favourite chapters of the Quran in Surah Yaseen as I was told it is the heart of the Quran. I often make Zikrullah as that is a way to gain abundance of good deeds and sins forgiven. There is a website that I follow for guidance in my Deen and that is Islamqa. I follow Islamqa for reference to opinions for my faith. I have been on umrah and it was an amazing experience as kabba is the direction we face for every prayer. Now that I have been there, I feel so accomplished like I did a mini hajj. I really enjoyed that trip and it was one of my dreams to visit that holy site. I follow the articles and tenets of Islam and I really enjoy the month of Ramadan as that month when you are fasting Allah sends down abundant blessings and goodness through our fasting. I find it not too difficult to fast and it is indeed a great milestone in my life! I love to explorer the finer things in life like travelling and fine dining. I enjoy watching a lot of youtube videos that revolves around the humanities sphere of topics like politics, economics, history and about the world altogether. I enjoy learning about different countries and what each every one of them is about. I like to learn about cultures. I like to listen to others' travel experiences. I really enjoy listening to Islamic nasheeds from notable singers such as Maher Zain and Sami Yusef. I love pets such as cats and dogs. I would say that I am a very loving, forgiving and compassionate person! I am looking for someone who is compassionate at heart and forgiving also as marriage comes with things to resolve as it is not always perfect so husband and wife need to be understanding with each other and know how to get along in a marriage to keep the marriage together. I would like someone who has the Islamic inner beauty as well as outer beauty and beautiful Islamic Adab and character! I want someone whom when I see her and hear about her, I fall in love! I want her to be an amazing example to our kids as I like to have kids and raise them up under proper Islamic education and guidance and mannerism. I don’t want them to go astray in a world we live in with many haram influences. I want to build a family that focuses on A close relationship with Allah that depends fully on Allah for all help and sustenance. Allah is our saviour and sustainer! It would be a bonus and of course not mandatory if she shares some similar interests as me in the humanities and social sciences fields. I enjoy talking about the latest news and what is happening around the world. I enjoy topics in politics and economics and Islam. I want her to open up to me in heart and mind and tell me what she thinks about things whenever she wants to vent out or just talk. I am there for her whenever she will be in need of someone to hear her out. I want her to be like my best friend and open up to me about things. If she can cook amazing foods then that would be even more of a bonus Alhamdulilah! I hope to have a life long relationship with her and have us support each other always along the way until our end in life and may Allah grant us a good end!
