I enjoy people with whom I can talk easily — merely doing things with someone else doesn’t help me bond as conversations do. I’ve found it much easier to bond with a new acquaintance who’s ready to let me learn about her and ready to learn about me. This is partly because I’m a little reticent at first (it’s easier if the other person is a little more outgoing than I am), and also because I value someone who prizes thoughtfulness and opinion-sharing.
