i would marry someone much younger than me, or older than me, it doesnt matter, both are from the sunnah and those who dont follow it out of some cultural perception are abandoning the sunnah for their jahil culture. Age doesn't matter in Islam, The Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him), married Hazrat Khadija (r), when she was 15 years older than him. So, all those misconceptions, are just culture rather.
