I believe that religion is an anchor for our lives, and my wish is to conduct my life in a way that pleases Allah. I try to be a practicing Muslim alhamdulillah and I'm interested in studying Islam and learning Arabic InshaAllah. I was blessed with parents who instilled in me the importance of patience, compassion, politeness, generosity, and respect for elders. My friends describe me as caring, kind, softhearted, easygoing, humorous, and outspoken about the things that matter to me. I tend to be on the more reserved and quiet side, but with people that I trust and am close with - I can talk endlessly. I enjoy photography, cooking, reading, and writing (although my stint in graduate school seems to have sucked a lot of the joy out of leisurely reading and writing). Given the time and circumstances, I love to travel and visit new places. I find a lot of joy and enrichment in observing God's beauty that He manifests in nature. I currently work at one of the Middle East's most prominent hospitals, as a pediatric dietitian, specialized in NICU (neonatal intensive care). If Allah wills, I would like to continue my career after marriage - and if Allah blesses me with children, after motherhood as feasible. I enjoy my line of work tremendously Alhamdulillah and feel blessed to have a job where I can be of some help to others, but inshaAllah I will not ignore my family's rights or needs for the sake of a career. I think it's important that I mention that inshaAllah relocation will not be a point of contention for me. I was previously in the United States for my higher education and for work experience, and I have recently relocated to Qatar. I do have a wish to eventually settle down and raise a family in a Muslim country, but only Allah knows if that is written in my future, and of course He will take me wherever He knows is best for me.
I'm not a frivolous person and expect my partner to be sensible and rational as well. I would like someone who'd respect and support me and who knows that being a kind, understanding, and gentle husband goes hand in hand with being a God fearing, good Muslim. With that said, I InshaAllah will strive to be the best wife in Islam that I can be. If you're extremely impulsive, have an explosive temper, or have a hefty ego, I'm not sure that I'm equipped with the personality to deal with that. I really value and appreciate humility as a virtue. I'd like someone who is compassionate, fair tempered, respectful of his elders, and loving towards children. Someone who prays regularly, who strives to properly practice Islam, and who makes conscientious efforts to stay within the bounds of Islam in his every day life. Someone who realizes that this world isn't all that there is and that we have to work for the Hereafter. Someone who isn't content with performing the bare minimum that it takes to be a Muslim, because I want a partner who will inspire me to become a better person and a better servant of Allah. I know that this world is a test and it's a struggle sometimes just to maintain who we are and keep ourselves from faltering, but I believe that as long as we have a sincere yearning in our hearts to come closer to Allah and to serve Him and our Ummah, inshaAllah we can grow together. Don't get me wrong - I appreciate and enjoy life's simple pleasures and light-hearted moments, but I want to be the kind of person who is able to live in this world without losing sight of my responsibilities and obligations as a Muslim, and I can't be successful at achieving that if my partner doesn't feel the same way. May Allah grant us all who we seek and who is best for our deen, dunya, and aakhirah.
