I am a British Pakistani (2nd generation) looking for a partner. My first language is English, second is urdu (not very fluent). I work within the retail/healthcare sector as a manager. I graduated with a masters (nothing special) - just a regular degree from a London uni many years ago. Currently I live with family within East London and have never married. So far I have I spent most of my adult life working and not had time nor felt the need to marry. However, I realise I am aging (35 years now) and ought to marry fairly soon. Plus I feel mature enough to deal with the challenges of married life whereas previously (in my twenties) I didn't feel I could cope. I would describe my appearance as average (nothing special), stocky build (slightly overweight) and height is approx 5'10 and weight is 83KG. Alhumdulillah I manage to fulfill my 5 daily prayers - usually at work or home, occasionally at my local masjid. I am currently studying a tafseer of Quran in my spare time and I find it fascinating. Other interests I have include; working on my vintage bike and just attempting general DIY bits around the house. I especially enjoy restoring/repairing things of interest. In the past I always fancied myself as a bit of a mechanic but I would now describe myself as more of a logistics person - I like learning about how things function. I also feel some satisfaction in a bit of star gazing, though I know very little about the universe. Overall I am a down to earth no frills kind of person. I am not that keen on travelling the world either, I know some young people are but I am not. Hope that gives you more of an idea about me.
Though I realise no ones perfect - me included, I am looking for a practicing muslima who prefers to wear a headscarf in public or will at least consider it in the very near future. Overall someone who dresses modestly and BEHAVES modestly as well. Someone who is not too loud and attention seeking but also not shy and very timid. Definitely someone who likes to talk instead of read books all day long, so a conversationalist. It would be a bonus if she can cook, if not shouldn't be a problem as I wish to learn to cook so maybe we can learn together? Also someone who is smart but not smart mouthed as some youngsters are. Someone who has enough courage and confidence to stand up for themselves without being vulgar and rude - again as some youngsters do these days.
